The Story of Our Kindergarten

Our kindergarten Lotte was established by Decision No. 228 of the Tartu City Council on 24 May 2007. The cornerstone of the kindergarten was laid on 25 May 2007. The opening event for families and guests took place on 8 January 2008, and the kindergarten opened its doors to children on 9 January 2008. By Directive No. 1059 of the Estonian Minister of Education and Research, issued on 5 November 2007, the kindergarten was granted education licence No. 4850HTM for conducting educational and upbringing activities.

We collect stories for the kindergarten chronicle about the people we work with and the activities we share together. In the autumn of 2011, we submitted a collection of kindergarten stories to the values education competition “Values Education in Kindergarten: Stories and Characters”, organised by the Ethics Centre. The Ethics Centre recognised the kindergarten’s work with a letter of appreciation. The collection of stories creates a warm and vivid picture of the people, activities, and shared values of our kindergarten.
